How to Measure

Three Ways to Find Your Size

1

Download & Print

Download our printable ring sizer and print at exactly 100% scale. Do not select "fit to page" or "scale to fit" — this will alter the measurements.

2

Verify the Scale

Use the reference ruler printed on the chart to confirm accuracy before measuring. The 1-inch bar must measure exactly one inch on your printout.

3

Match Your Finger

Gently place your finger over each circle, starting near your expected size. The correct size will slide comfortably over your knuckle and sit snugly at the base.

4

Note Your Size

The number beside the matching circle is your US ring size. Refer to the International Size Chart below to convert to EU, UK, or millimeter measurements.

1

Gather Your Materials

You will need a thin strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy string, a pen or marker, and a ruler marked in millimeters.

2

Wrap Around Your Finger

Wrap the paper or string snugly around the base of the finger you intend to wear the ring on. Mark clearly where the ends meet — do not wrap too tightly.

3

Measure the Length

Lay the paper or string flat and measure from the end to your mark in millimeters. This measurement is the circumference of your finger.

4

Find Your Size

Match your circumference (mm) to the International Size Chart below. If your measurement falls between two sizes, we recommend sizing up by half a size for comfort.

No Tools Required
This method works with materials you likely have at home. A non-stretchy piece of paper or cooking twine gives the most accurate result.
Avoid using elastic or stretchy string — it will compress and give an inaccurate reading.
1

Choose a Well-Fitting Ring

Select a ring that fits the intended finger comfortably — not too loose and not too tight. A ring from the same finger on the same hand is ideal.

2

Measure the Inner Diameter

Place the ring on a flat surface and use a ruler to measure the inside diameter in millimeters — from one inner edge straight across to the opposite inner edge.

3

Match to the Size Chart

Find your diameter (mm) in the Inner Diameter column of the International Size Chart below. The corresponding US size is your ring size.

4

Bring It In-Store

If you would like a professional measurement, bring any well-fitting ring into our store. Our jewellers will measure it precisely at no charge.

Our Advice

Expert Sizing Tips

Best Time to Measure

Fingers are smallest in the morning and expand throughout the day. For the most accurate reading, measure in the afternoon — and avoid measuring when you are cold, hot, or after exercise, as temperature and activity both affect finger size.

Account for Your Knuckle

If your knuckle is noticeably larger than the base of your finger, size to fit over the knuckle comfortably. A narrower band will minimise any looseness at the base. We recommend choosing a band under 4mm if your knuckle and base measurements differ significantly.

Band Width Matters

Wider bands fit more snugly than narrow ones because they cover more surface area of the finger. If you are ordering a ring with a band wider than 6mm, we recommend sizing up by half a size from your measured size to ensure a comfortable, all-day fit.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What if my size falls between two sizes? +
We recommend sizing up by half a size. A ring that fits slightly loose is far easier to resize than one that is too tight. Our jewellers can resize most rings if needed after purchase — contact us before ordering if you have any concerns.
Can my ring be resized after purchase? +
Most rings can be resized up or down by one to two sizes. Rings with gemstones set around the full band — such as eternity rings — and those crafted from alternative metals such as tungsten or titanium cannot be resized. If you are unsure, we encourage you to contact us before purchasing so we can advise you.
What is the most common ring size for women? +
The most common women’s ring sizes in the US are 6 and 7. However, ring size varies significantly between individuals. We always recommend taking a measurement before purchasing rather than assuming a standard size — particularly for engagement rings and gifts.
How do I secretly find my partner’s ring size? +
There are a few discreet ways to find your partner’s ring size. Borrow one of their rings from the correct finger and bring it to our store — our jewellers will measure it for you at no charge. Alternatively, trace the inside of the ring on paper and compare it to our printable sizer. You can also enlist the help of a close friend or family member. If all else fails, choose a standard size and plan to resize after the proposal.
Does ring size differ between fingers? +
Yes — each finger is a different size, and your dominant hand is typically slightly larger than your non-dominant hand. Always measure the specific finger you intend to wear the ring on, not just any finger. For most people, the ring finger on the left hand is the intended finger for engagement and wedding rings.
Do you offer complimentary in-store ring sizing? +
Yes — complimentary ring sizing is available at our store. Our jewellers use professional ring mandrels for a precise, reliable measurement. No appointment is necessary, though we recommend calling ahead during peak seasons such as the holidays and Valentine’s Day.
