Precious Metals at Sophia Jewelers
Our jewelry comes in a range of metals, from gold, platinum and sterling silver to stainless steel and titanium. Each product page lists its exact metal.
14k Gold (Most Popular)
58.3% pure gold. The ideal balance of durability and color richness. Available in yellow gold, white gold, and rose gold. The standard choice for fine jewelry.
18k Gold (Premium)
75% pure gold. Richer in color, slightly softer than 14k. Preferred for heirloom and statement pieces where purity matters most.
10k Gold (Everyday Value)
41.7% pure gold. The most durable gold alloy — ideal for active wearers. Stamped 417 on the piece.
Sterling Silver
92.5% pure silver, stamped 925. Cool-toned and versatile. Best for occasional wear; silver develops a natural patina over time.
Platinum
Naturally white, hypoallergenic, and the most durable precious metal. Recommended for those with nickel sensitivities.
Titanium & Stainless Steel
Lightweight, hypoallergenic, and virtually maintenance-free. Excellent for everyday wear and sensitive skin.
Lab-Grown Diamonds
Lab-grown diamonds are physically, chemically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. Same carbon crystal structure, same hardness (10 on the Mohs scale), same brilliance. Created in a controlled environment, lab-grown diamonds are typically 50-70% less expensive than comparable mined stones. Lab-grown diamonds are conflict-free by origin. Grading reports are included only when the individual product details specify one.
Finding the Right Bracelet Size
Measure your wrist with a flexible tape measure or a strip of paper, wrapping snugly just below the wrist bone.
- Snug fit: wrist measurement + 0.5 inch
- Standard comfortable fit: wrist measurement + 0.75-1 inch
- Loose/stacked fit: wrist measurement + 1-1.5 inches
Most women's bracelets are sized 6.5 to 8 inches; 7 inches is the standard size. Men's bracelets typically range from 8 to 9 inches. The bracelet length is listed in each product description. Bangles do not adjust — measure the widest part of your hand (knuckle to knuckle) to find the right bangle diameter.
Bracelet Types at Sophia Jewelers
- Tennis bracelet — a continuous line of diamonds or gemstones in a flexible setting; the most classic fine bracelet style
- Bangle — a rigid circular bracelet that slips over the hand; worn singly or stacked in multiples
- Cuff — an open-ended bracelet that wraps around the wrist; adjustable and bold
- Charm bracelet — a link or chain bracelet designed to hold charms; grows with you over time
- Chain bracelet — interconnected metal links in cable, box, rope, or figaro patterns
- Link bracelet — wider, flat metal links; a classic choice in gold and silver
- Beaded bracelet — strung beads in gemstone, metal, or pearl; casual and stackable
Clasp Types
- Box clasp — clicks shut securely; standard for tennis and fine chain bracelets
- Lobster claw — the most secure clasp; easy to open one-handed
- Toggle — T-bar through a loop; decorative and easy to fasten
- Fold-over — folds flat against the bracelet; used on link and bangle styles
- Safety clasp — a secondary lock added to box clasps on high-value pieces
Stacking Bracelets
Mix textures and widths: pair a thin chain bracelet with a medium cuff and a bangle for depth. Odd numbers (3 or 5) tend to stack more naturally than even. Vary metal colors or keep to a single metal tone — both work. Delicate bracelets stack better on the same wrist; bolder pieces are best worn alone or with one accent piece.
Caring for Your Jewelry
Fine jewelry deserves thoughtful care. These guidelines will keep your pieces luminous for years.
Daily Wear
- Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, or using cleaning products
- Apply lotion, perfume, and hairspray before putting on your jewelry
- Avoid wearing jewelry during gym workouts or high-contact activities
- Put jewelry on last when getting dressed
Cleaning at Home
Mix a few drops of mild dish soap with warm water. Soak for 15-20 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft toothbrush. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a lint-free cloth. Safe for gold, platinum, and most gemstones. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for pearls, opals, and emeralds.
Storage
Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or compartmentalized jewelry box to prevent scratching. Keep chains laid flat or hung to avoid tangling. Store silver in anti-tarnish pouches to slow oxidation.
Professional Care
Have precious stone jewelry professionally cleaned and inspected once a year to check prong integrity, stone security, and clasp function.

What affects the price of citrine jewelry?
Metal, stone size, and extra gemstones drive the price. Sterling silver and 14K gold differ widely, and larger citrines or added diamonds raise the cost. Earrings, rings, bracelets, and pendants also vary by design and size. Use the Price filter on this page to set a budget.
Which citrine styles are most popular?
Citrine rings in sterling silver lead the list. Birthstone rings, citrine and diamond rings, and antiqued oval, round, and heart styles show up first. Cushion-cut and halo designs follow, along with citrine necklaces and dangle earrings in 14K gold.
Is citrine real or treated?
Citrine is a natural quartz, but heat treatment is common. Much citrine on the market is amethyst or smoky quartz heated to bring out a golden color. This is a standard, stable practice for the stone in general. Lab-created citrine also exists, so check each product description for the stone type.
What does a citrine and diamond ring look like?
It pairs a warm golden center stone with small, bright diamonds. The diamonds appear as accents in halo, three-stone, or heart-side settings, so the citrine stays the focus. They suit anyone who likes a little sparkle without a bold look.
How do I care for citrine jewelry?
Wipe it with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Store it apart from harder gems to avoid scratches, and keep it out of long, strong sunlight. Antiqued silver finishes look best with gentle cleaning. See our jewelry care page for more tips.
