A large oval Miraculous Medal pendant die-struck in solid 14K yellow gold, finished with a polished front and satin-textured reverse.
The Miraculous Medal depicts Our Lady of Grace and traces its design to 1830, when Catherine Labouré, a novice of the Daughters of Charity in Paris, reported a vision of the Virgin Mary instructing her to have a medal struck in this image. Since then it has been worn by generations of Catholics as a sacramental associated with protection and intercession, and remains one of the most widely recognized Marian medals in Catholic devotional jewelry.
